DEEP BLUE
タイトル通り、海の奥深さを知ることが出来る作品でした。自然界のヒエラルキーを垣間見ることが出来ます。シャチがアシカを食べるシーン、シャチがクジラの子供を食べるシーンなどは強烈ですし、海溝の映像は地球が大きいことを教えてくれます。鴨川シーワールドで見ることが出来るシャチのショーも、この作品を見る前と見た後では印象が変わってくるのではないでしょうか。（ちなみに私は鴨川シーワールドへいったことがないので、すでに後者の立場となってしまうのですが。。。）
海をテーマにしているということもあり、『DEEP BLUE』は現在公開中の『皇帝ペンギン』と肩を並べているような印象ですが、『DEEP BLUE』はバラエティに富んでいて、シャチ・サメ・アシカ・アザラシ・クジラ・白くまといった色々な動物をフィーチャーしているので、『皇帝ペンギン』とは異なり、むしろディスカバリーチャンネルの総集編的な要素の方が強いですね。
ともあれ、大画面で見たら、海の深さを体感できることうけあい。BGVとして流していたら、つい映像に引き込まれてしまう魅力があります。私はこの作品が好きです。星4つ。★★★★☆
今回はレンタルで見たのですが、今売られているスペシャルエディションの特典映像も見たかったなぁ。。。
